Responsibilities
  • Work with youth to understand their educational strengths and challenges
  • Maintain positive and supportive relationships with stakeholders
  • Assist with the registration and orientation of all Pathways families
  • Support student evolution by monitoring and writing detailed reports/case notes
  • Refer individual students and parents to other community resources
  • Support and supervise volunteers during programming
  • Help organize and develop needed resources for programs
  • Oversee student academic success
  • Build youth capacity to advocate for themselves
  • Support families with socio-emotional and mental wellbeing
Requirements
  • Relevant combination of experience and post-secondary education in the fields of Youth Work, Education, Community Development or Social Sciences
  • Experience working with diverse populations of youth one-on-one and in groups
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, written and presentation skills
  • Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Personable, motivational and able to develop a positive rapport with students, families and stakeholders
  • Ability to set priorities, manage workloads and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of community and social service resources that support youth and families is an asset
