Full job description
    The HR Assistant provides day-to-day administrative support to the Human Resources department. By assisting with recruitment, recordkeeping, employee communications, and compliance processes, the HR Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the overall employee experience and the smooth operation of HR functions.
    Key Responsibilities
    Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening applications, and scheduling interviews; the HR Assistant ensures timely communication with candidates and hiring teams
    Maintain accurate employee records, both physical and digital, in compliance with internal policies and labor laws
    Support onboarding activities such as preparing orientation materials, collecting new hire documents, and coordinating first-day logistics
    Respond to routine employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, or benefits; the HR Assistant ensures responses are professional and accurate
    Assist in preparing HR reports, presentations, and data summaries as requested
    Help coordinate internal events, training sessions, or employee engagement activities
    Ensure confidentiality is maintained in all HR Assistant responsibilities, especially when handling personal or sensitive information
    Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including calendar scheduling, filing, and documentation
    Stay informed about updates to HR policies and procedures and assist with communicating changes to staff
    Skills and Qualifications
    High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred
    Previous experience in an administrative or HR Assistant role is an asset
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with HR software or systems is a plus
    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    Good verbal and written communication abilities
    Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
    A proactive and service-oriented attitude is key to success as an HR Assistant
    Working Conditions
    The HR Assistant typically works in an office setting during standard business hours
