The Manager, DevOps and Infrastructure is responsible for leading and managing the company’s multi\-cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and system administration. This role ensures high availability, performance, security, and scalability of mission\-critical systems while enabling efficient, automated, and defect\-free software deployment processes. The manager will oversee a team responsible for CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), automation, monitoring, configuration management, and system reliability. This position also participates in a 24x7 on\-call rotation to support critical infrastructure incidents and ensure operational continuity.
Essential Duties \& Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DevOps engineers, system administrators, and cloud operations personnel.
Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud and on\-premise infrastructure across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud.
Architect and operate CI/CD platforms and tooling to enable seamless software delivery pipelines and improve deployment frequency.
Execute and manage the complete build lifecycle, ensuring all deployable artifacts are generated accurately and efficiently for non\-development environments (QA, UAT, production).
Develop and enforce repeatable, automated, and defect\-free deployment processes across all stacks.
Implement and coach Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles such as automation, visibility, self\-healing, high availability, scalability, and root cause analysis.
Partner with application development and QA teams to design and maintain on\-call and incident response processes, release gating workflows, and proactive alerting strategies.
Collaborate with configuration management teams and developers to define git branching strategies and streamline change control and feature releases.
Build and maintain monitoring and logging infrastructure to support system observability and rapid issue detection.
Lead capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning; design and implement DR/remote service strategies.
Perform routine audits and capacity assessments to optimize system performance and resource utilization.
Ensure all infrastructure and platform processes meet SOC 1, SOC 2, and other relevant compliance frameworks; deliver supporting evidence and documentation during audits.
Maintain and govern cloud asset inventory to minimize cost and prevent environment sprawl.
Provide tier 1–3 support for infrastructure services and platforms used by internal technology and business teams.
Stay current with industry trends and recommend emerging technologies that promote scalability, efficiency, and security.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises DevOps Engineers, and Cloud System Administrators.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include recruiting, onboarding, training, mentoring, performance management, and supporting career development.
Qualifications / Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
7\+ years of progressive experience in DevOps and infrastructure roles, including 2\+ years in a management or technical leadership capacity.
Proven experience operating full\-cycle SDLC environments including source control, issue tracking, build systems, testing, and production control.
Technical Skills
Expert\-level understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including source control (e.g., Git), defect tracking, build automation, testing, deployment, and production control.
Strong programming and scripting skills in TypeScript, Python, PowerShell, C\#, and Bash.
Hands\-on experience with Infrastructure\-as\-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager templates, and Ansible.
Experience managing modern CI/CD tools and workflows, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and blue/green deployments.
Strong experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and LXC.
Exposure to serverless technologies.
Proficiency in cloud\-native tools such as EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Route 53, ELB, AMIs, and Directory Services.
Familiarity with Linux and Windows system administration, networking protocols, firewalls, ACLs, DNS, load balancing, proxies, and SOC compliance requirements.
Understanding of SQL and database architecture for troubleshooting performance issues.
