    EDEE 283\-003 Social Studies Pedagogy
    Programs, materials and strategies for social studies from Kindergarten through grade six.
    Term: Winter 2026
    Course Credits: 3
    Location: EDUC 613
    Schedule: Friday, 11:35 am\-02:25 pm
    Teaching Qualification Requirements:
    Education: Master educator with an MA (i.e., social studies education, social studies teaching and learning) and/or extensive relevant experience as a school educator/teacher/pedagogue
    PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset
    Experience:
    Experience as a master ELA k/elementary teacher/instructor with knowledge of: Quebec’s educational program
    Quebec’s social studies program at the elementary school level
    The teaching and learning of social studies (history, geography, and citizenship education)
    Elementary teaching and learning theory/ methodologies
    Sound instructional techniques
    Other:
    Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the undergraduate level
    Experience as a master teacher/instructor in the Quebec educational system is an asset
    Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion
    Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences
    Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset
    Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools
