Responsibilities

• operate the hoe and other heavy equipment in a safe manner
• conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
• work with ground personnel in excavation processes
• ensure trench is excavated to proper depth/grade
• responsible for placing pipes in the excavation
• follow directions of ground crew
• cut grade efficiently for optimal production
• conduct trench work meeting OH&S requirements
• maintain awareness when operating on public roadways
• train employees in safe operation of the hoe

Requirements

• high school diploma or ged preferred
• class 5 driver's license required
• minimum 3-5 years' experience in water and sewer or road construction industry
• 2-3 years' experience operating a mainline hoe required
