    We are currently seeking a Mental Health Worker to work in the Brant Safe Beds Program located in Brantford, ON. The Mental Health Worker provides support to persons experiencing acute mental health crisis, in a residential setting utilizing a Psychosocial Rehabilitation \& Recovery model.
    The Mental Health Worker has a responsibility to the individuals being provided service, as well as to the broader community.
    Highlighted Responsibilities:
    Support clients of CMHA’s Brant Safe Beds Program
    Assist each client with the creation of a goal plan and steps for achievement. Monitor and evaluate, the progress of the plan.
    Form a therapeutic relationship with clients by promoting independence and positive change. Strive to build positive rapport and respectful relations with clients.
    Utilize appropriate β€˜after\-hours’ consultation and support from the agency program supervisor (when necessary).
    Assist in the successful re\-integration of individuals back into the community of persons released from hospital, correctional facilities or addiction withdrawal programs.
    Assist clients to develop and/or maintain a natural support network.
    Facilitate clients’ access to information, resources and opportunities.
    Assist clients with medication management.
    Maintain accurate and up\-to\-date client records in EMHware.
    Maintain accurate and up\-to\-date communication with other Mental Health Workers on\-site.
    Maintain effective communication with the Program Team Lead and Supervisor.
    Provide education and/or information regarding mental health services, as required.
    Advocate on the behalf of clients.
    Qualifications and Experience:
    Post Secondary Diploma in Social Services Worker, or a related Social Services field.
    Related work experience (2\+ years preferred) in a mental health service environment.
    Reliable transportation required.
    Must be willing to undergo a vulnerable sector check.
    First Aid Certification and CPR required (willing to train).
    Experience working in a congregate living and/or residential services in mental health or a related field.
    Knowledge of local community programs and services.
    Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
    Strong organizational and computer skills; experience in Client Data Systems (EMHware), Microsoft Office.
    Familiarity with psychotropic medications, assessment instruments (ie. OCAN, GAIN\-SS, OPOC) and psychiatric reports.
    Ability to problem\-solve, think creatively and act quickly to address crisis situations.
    Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
