    Our Company
    Nonna Lia is a fast\-growing Italian eating establishment catered to savvy customers with a premium taste. Over the past 4 years, our team has expanded to \~30 people, with products sold in 10 locations across the GTA. Today, more than 10,000lb of desserts are made and sold in our kitchen every single month.
    Your opportunity:
    We are seeking a passionate and skilled Head Pastry Chef to join our kitchen. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our pastry team, working directly with our Head Chef (focused on Pasta / Hot Food), our seasoned pastry consultant, and the Founder to execute and expand our exciting line of desserts. You will also play a leading role in launching an innovative dessert\-driven tasting menu.
    You will do great if you have a deep understanding of Italian and international desserts, baking techniques, large volume production, ingredient sourcing, and 2\+ years experience in a leadership role.
    As a team, we are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong ability to delegate and coach, a humble demeanour, and a strong entrepreneurial drive.
    Duties
    As the Head Pastry Chef you will personally oversee a wide range of crucial tasks in our pastry business. These include but are not limited to:
    Recipe Development: Lead product improvement and product development activities focused on new or existing dessert lines
    Quality Control: Lead product quality control activities required to ensure a consistent experience in line with company policies and expectations
    Productivity \& Operations: Set up and execute efficient and effective operations in the kitchen, while monitoring and improving productivity and profitability
    Ingredient Sourcing \& Inventory: Manage pastry inventory, ensuring availability of top quality ingredients while balancing food costs and waste
    Staff Management: Lead staff management activities including hiring and firing recommendations, training, coaching, and overall career growth and productivity
    Health \& Safety: Ensure health and safety policies are developed or implemented to safeguard our customers, employees, and collaborators
    Qualifications
    Minimum of 5\+ years in pastry production, and 2\+ years in a leadership role
    Strong understanding of Italian and international desserts and techniques
    Passion for excellence, high\-quality ingredients, and innovative techniques
    Proven ability to develop or test new recipes, and scale them for large volume production while maintaining quality and consistency
    Proven ability in managing food costs and production outputs
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Strong ability to delegate and coach
    A humble demeanour, and a strong entrepreneurial drive
    Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling ingredients
    Job Type: Full\-time
    Pay: $55,000\.00\-$70,000\.00 per year
