    Purpose of this employment:
    To support each child resident in Spruce Cottage as part of a multidisciplinary residential team by creating a safe, nurturing and therapeutically responsive environment which meets their individual needs. To contribute to the development and fruition of therapeutic plans and their agreed intervention strategies in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and relevant external professionals.
    Key responsibilities:
    To provide daily care and protection for the children resident in Spruce Cottage to include supporting them with daily living tasks.
    To contribute to the multi\-disciplinary assessment of the children’s needs, informed by your specific discipline, and the development of appropriate therapeutic plans with the team to meet such needs.
    To understand the origins, nature and function of the children’s trauma based behaviour and to employ key agreed interventions, in line with their therapeutic plan, to support children when they present with high risk behaviours.
    To contribute to and participate in team meetings, children’s meetings, core group meetings, care planning meetings/ Looked After Review meetings and any other meetings as required.
    To assist in facilitating personal education plans for young people and ensure that recreational and leisure activities are organised and facilitated in line with their therapeutic plan.
    To assist in the daily care and protection of animals within the home and willingly and accurately support and facilitate therapeutic plans which incorporate animals.
    Essential Criteria:
    Criteria1: Professional qualification Level 6 or higher in any of the following areas: Social Work, Youth and Community Work, Teaching, Nursing, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Health and Social Care.
    AND
    Experience of working with children who have experienced developmental trauma.
    OR
    Level 3 qualification in any of the following areas: Social Work, Youth and Community Work, Teaching, Nursing, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Health and Social Care.
    AND
    3 years’ experience of working with children (residential setting) who have experienced trauma.
    Criteria 2: A full current driving licence and access to a car is required to meet the requirements of the post in full
    Criteria 3: It will be a requirement of this post to be registered with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC).
    Desirable Criteria:
    3 years’ experience of working with children in a residential setting
    Salary:
    Pay starts at Β£27,720 during probation, rising to Β£27,930 after passing probation. There is potential for this to rise to Β£29,230 through working Sleep\-in shifts.
