- The purpose of this job is to perform general cleaning, janitorial duties, and light maintenance of assigned property and buildings. Responsible for keeping City facilities clean and maintaining a healthy environment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities \
Unlocks, locks, and sets alarms to secure buildings.
Operate vacuum cleaners, buffers, floor scrubbers, and other related cleaning custodial equipment; monitors and maintains cleaning supply inventory and ensures cleaning equipment is in proper working condition.
Load and unload cleaning supplies, materials, and equipment
Removes trash, recyclables, and debris from the interior and exterior of the facility.
Vacuums, sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors; shampoos carpets; and washes windows and walls.
Cleans and sanitizes: restrooms, locker rooms, kitchenettes, and drinking fountains; replenishes restroom supplies and stocks carts.
Dusts surfaces, polishes metal fixtures, and moves furniture and equipment.
Replaces lamps in lighting fixtures, cleans air vents, and ceiling fans
Maintain lawns, sidewalks, and parking areas; assist with snow removal; and operate hand/power mowers and related equipment.
Follows safety policies and guidelines, and assists with building supervision and policy enforcement.
Provides effective customer service to patrons.
Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Special Instructions to Applicants
The Columbia Parks and Recreation Department is looking for full\-time custodian. This staff person will clean and maintain the Activity and Recreation Center (ARC) and be a member of the full\-time staff team. Includes daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cleaning tasks, as well as minor maintenance, assisting with meeting room set up for rentals, interacting with ARC patrons, and assisting with the enforcement of facility guidelines. Responsible for supply inventory. Experience and knowledge in cleaning and maintaining a variety of surfaces preferred.
