Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic design and implementation of equity-centered curriculum for the LBH initiative in collaboration with academic partners, faculty, and community leaders
  • Develop and maintain academic partnerships that reflect the program’s values of racial equity, community responsiveness, and cross-sector leadership
  • Facilitate collaboration between faculty and LBH leadership to ensure coherence between content delivery, programmatic goals, and learner experience
  • Convene faculty working groups, co-design sessions, and curriculum development retreats to support interdisciplinary teaching and learning models
  • Translate pedagogical frameworks into dynamic, inclusive learning experiences, incorporating lived experiences, storytelling, and applied policy contexts
  • Guide curriculum evaluation and iteration through a continuous improvement lens informed by participant feedback, evaluation data, and equity benchmarks
Requirements

    VMG is seeking a collaborative, equity\-centered Academic Partner Lead to support curriculum innovation and strategic faculty engagement for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Leadership for Better Health (LBH) initiative. This role will serve as a primary liaison between VMG, academic institutions, and LBH partners to ensure the alignment of curricular design and faculty contributions with the initiative’s goals. The Academic Partner Lead will steward the co\-creation of transformational learning experiences grounded in health equity, policy change, and cross\-sector leadership.
    The ideal candidate will possess deep experience in curriculum development, academic partnership cultivation, and faculty engagement across higher education institutions. A strong commitment to health equity, community\-led learning, and systems transformation is essential.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    The Academic Partner Lead will:
    Lead the strategic design and implementation of equity\-centered curriculum for the LBH initiative in collaboration with academic partners, faculty, and community leaders.
    Develop and maintain academic partnerships that reflect the program’s values of racial equity, community responsiveness, and cross\-sector leadership.
    Facilitate collaboration between faculty and LBH leadership to ensure coherence between content delivery, programmatic goals, and learner experience.
    Convene faculty working groups, co\-design sessions, and curriculum development retreats to support interdisciplinary teaching and learning models.
    Translate pedagogical frameworks into dynamic, inclusive learning experiences, incorporating lived experiences, storytelling, and applied policy contexts.
    Guide curriculum evaluation and iteration through a continuous improvement lens informed by participant feedback, evaluation data, and equity benchmarks.
    Primary Duties Include but Are Not Limited To:
    Managing academic partner relationships and coordinating faculty onboarding, communications, and alignment processes.
    Supporting the integration of academic content across in\-person and virtual formats, including workshops, learning labs, and community\-based residencies.
    Drafting and maintaining curriculum guides, learning objectives, facilitation toolkits, and resource materials.
    Collaborating with evaluation and learning teams to assess curriculum effectiveness and recommend improvements.
    Representing VMG in academic and professional networks to identify emerging innovations in leadership and equity education.
    Ensuring that curriculum design and faculty engagement efforts are grounded in trauma\-informed, inclusive, and anti\-oppressive practices.
    Education and/or Experience
    Required:
    Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Public Health, Education, Leadership Studies, or a related field.
    5–7 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or academic program leadership.
    Demonstrated success in cultivating and sustaining academic partnerships.
    Experience working with faculty and educators on interdisciplinary or equity\-centered programming.
    Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills.
    Preferred:
    Doctoral degree or equivalent experience in relevant field.
    Experience supporting leadership development or public health education programs.
    Knowledge of frameworks such as critical pedagogy, popular education, or transformative learning.
    Experience working with or within historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), tribal colleges, or other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs).
    Fluency in Spanish or another language spoken by marginalized communities in the U.S.
